Stephen Apps

Program Manager
Stephen Apps joined the Institute in 2004 following 10 years professional experience as a manager in the not-for-profit charitable health sector. In this role he oversaw the creation and management of a new national membership database as well as provided key support in the development and distribution of a number of public health education programs and publications. Stephen is currently responsible for overseeing the activities of CIPH’s Industrial Pipe,Valves & Fittings Council, Education & Training Council and Membeship Comittee as well as being responsible for publication of CIPH’s Pipeline and Pipeline Online newsletters.

Nancy Barden

Program Manager
Nancy Barden joined CIPH in 1992 after completing a three year Hotel and Resort Management program at Georgian College in Barrie.Nancy has been providing management to many programs, committees and councils within CIPH over the last 20 years. She is currently the Program Manager responsible for CIPH’s Annual Business Conference and is Ontario Region Coordinator.




Elizabeth McCullough, CDE

General Manager, Trade Shows
Elizabeth McCullough first joined CIPH in 1992. In her tenure with the Institute she has held the roles of Show Manager, Ontario Region Coordinator, Charity and Gala Manager,CAPM Manager, Pipeline Editor and ABC Manager. She currently holds the position of General Manager – Trade Shows, handling sales, marketing and operations for the MCEE show in Montreal, CIPHEX West in Western Canada and the CIPHEX Roadshow. Elizabeth also works with the CIPH Trade Show Advisory Committee, the Public Relations Committee and is a member of the CMPX Show Committee. Throughout her career she has been involved with regional, national and international trade shows across Canada and in the United States in the plumbing and heating, automotive and trucking industries. Elizabeth has been an active member of the Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM) since 1992 and served as the Association’s President from 1996 to 1998. She received the Certified Director of Expositions designation in 1997 and was inducted into CAEM’s Hall of Fame in 2011. Elizabeth is a graduate of McMaster University.


Michael Prencipe

Manager of Operations
Michael has a B.A. in Political Science and History from University of Toronto and has over 20 years of experience in administration, marketing and communications in both the not-for-profit and private sectors.
Michael is responsible for the ongoing management of all operations and service areas including office administration and accounting/finance. He oversees the Canadian Association of Pump Manufacturers (CAPM) and assists with marketing and communication initiatives.

Ralph Suppa, CAE

President & General Manager
Ralph Suppa has played a key role in the development of CIPH programs since joining the association in 1988. He has worked closely with industry members, associations and government over the past several years, to develop codes and standa rds. He was appointed President & General Manager in 2002. During his career with CIPH, Suppa has also managed the Canadian Hydronics Council, the Plumbing Industry Advisory Council, the Canadian Advisory Council on Plumbing, the Education & Training Council, the Manufacturers' Division, the Membership Committee, the Annual Business Conference, the Canadian Association of Pump Manufacturers, the Canadian Water Quality Association, and CIPH Ontario Region. A dedicated association executive, Suppa holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) and is a graduate of York University in Toronto. He is also a Past President of the Trillium Chapter of CSAE. Most recently Ralph has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Wholesaler Distributors (NAW) Institute for Distribution Excellence. He is married to Susie and has two children, Anthony and Isabella.

Kevin Wong, CAE

Technical Advisor
Kevin brings 6 years of working experience in the environmental consulting sector most recently with Jacques Whitford Ltd., one of the oldest Canadian owned environmental consulting groups offering full service to the real estate, mining, financial, government and industrial sectors. As well, he has brand management skills garnered from working with Cimatec Engineering in Toronto. As Scientist with Jacques Whitford, Kevin has over 6 years academic and professional experience undertaking water sampling, data analyses and hydrological modeling. As Director of Marketing at Ci matec, he developed the ToxBox tm as the flagship retail product for that company. Kevin provides technical expertise to CIPH and manages the Plumbing Industry Advisory Council. 



Matt Wiesenfeld

Program Manager
Matt Wiesenfeld has a wealth of experience in marketing, communications, event management, fundraising and financial management in both the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. He has a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Event Marketing from George Brown College.
Matt is responsible for the Canadian Hydronics Council and CIPH’s Charity Committee, which spearheads the Institute’s support of Habitat for Humanity Canada.
